Dear Developer:

The Intel(R) Software Performance Tools Group is pleased to provide
the Intel(R) Math Kernel Library 5.1 Beta. There have been bug fixes
and enhancements to the MKL since the last release, version 5.0.

Please uninstall any previous versions of the MKL completely before
installing the new version. The following are the most notable
changes since the last release:

New features in this version include:
* Available for the Linux* operating system, including BLAS, FFTs,
  LAPACK, and VML.
* Full set of LAPACK routines for Itanium(TM) processor versions of
the library and all Linux* versions of the library.
* Exceptional FFT performance on the Pentium(R) 4 processor.
* Superb level 3 BLAS performance on the Itanium(TM) processor.
* A new set of vectorized transcendental functions, collectively
known as the Vector Math Library, or VML. Using VML on vectors
of input values improves performance from 2x to 10x while
maintaining (and in some cases increasing) accuracy when compared
to performing the same operations using the default compiler
  libraries.

Bugs fixed in this release include:
* Threading issues on the level 3 BLAS have been repaired.
