Hello!

I'm new to this list and new to Boost as well. I wanted to just add my two
cents worth to your email. I was recommended to use the Boost libraries
via email correspondence with Bjarne Stroustrup. I asked him why there is
no reference-counted auto_ptr in the C++ standard, and he told me about
the smart_ptr.hpp library available in Boost.

I am using your shared_ptr<> template a lot these days (it works great for
vectors of smart pointers), and have recently discovered the power of
lexical_cast<>. I realize that I have only scraped the surface of this
marvelous library, but continue to learn more and more about it everyday.
Hence the reason why I signed up to the mailing list.

The fact that Boost is freely available means that I could integrate it
into our development library at work easily--the boss doesn't mind 'cause
it doesn't cost anything. :) So, it does not suprise me that many others
are using it--especially if Bjarne himself recommends it!

Thanks for making such a great library available!
