Yes, it does nothing with spaces.

The basic algorithm for splitting a filename into a path and a file
involves looking for the last separator. The last period defines the
extension in the filename and a colon defines the end of the drive. If it
thinks its a UNC name then it looks for \\server\share for the drive/volume.
