Sorry to drop in, but...

Thomas is away until Wednesday. If I understood the rest of the discussion 
correctly, it has already been decided that this should be fixed in some 
way or another.

So you might as well commit now, and roll back on Wednesday if Thomas 
decides otherwise. But at least the testing time is not lost until then.
