FWIW I don't think that was ever strictly true.

The original Xbox had a little endian Intel Pentium 3.

The Xbox 360 was indeed always ran as big endian although:

"The Power PC chip that powers the XBox 360 can actually be configured
to run in either little or big endian mode; the version in the XBox 360
is big endian."

But yes, the rumors are the new Xbox will be an AMD Jaguar-based CPU
very similar to the PS4.
