   Hi Andrej.

> Running bjam with --without-mpi does not suppress the error message below. I see this behavior on AIX 5.3 with gcc 4.2.4. I didn't try other distributions yet.

This behaviour appears to have been introduced by 'speedsnail' on
26.04.2008. in SVN revision 44774. The commit message also describes a
failing use-case that triggered the change.

But someone more knowledgeable with the Boost library Jamroot file
and that exact project's build system will have to take a look at what
can be done about this.

My first instinct is that here should somehow prepare project id's
(i.e. call the use-project rule) on all projects requested directly on
the command-line or indirectly from other requested project's Jamfiles.
How that should be achieved - would require more thought.

On the other hand, I recall seeing an agreement on the this that this
whole 'warning message displayed from Jamfile' pattern is a 'defect' and
will be dealt with after the Boost library 1.36.0 release, so this might
just be a 'known and acceptable error'.

   Hope this helps.

   Best regards,
