It's been almost three weeks since I submitted a pull request and I haven't
received any comments or feedback. Is there a timeframe that I should expect
before anyone will have a chance to take a look?
That question was discussed last week at C++Now, and we now have official policies on pull request responsiveness and some related areas. It will take some time for our written procedures to reflect the new policies, but here is an informal summary:
* The steering committee has authorized the Community Maintenance Team (CMT) to set a reasonable time for responsiveness to pull requests (and eventually other forms of formal support requests). For now, more than three weeks is too long to go without some form of response.
* The CMT now been granted authority to apply pull requests to any library when the regular maintainer isn't responding or wants to delegate responsibility for particular pull requests. There will obviously have to be procedures put in place to specify how this process works, so please expect rough edges as details get worked out.
* In the case where someone has changes to apply to a large number of libraries, the CMT is now the point-of-contact for getting questions answered and coordinating such changes across multiple libraries.
The above was written from memory - if I've got any of it wrong would anyone who was in the discussions in Aspen please step in and correct me.
