There are further polymorphic archives missing in the jamfile, at least 
polymorphic_text_iarchive and oarchive.

I now switched from polymorphic_binary_{i|o}archive to 
binary_{i|o}archive. As I understand the only drawback is compilation 
speed and efficiency.
