I agree with you, and it's perfectly OK to discuss Proto here. I started
the list because a lot of discussion about the Phoenix3 redesign was
happening off-list with an ever-growing to: and cc: list that was
difficult to manage. It wasn't really appropriate for boost-dev or
boost-user, so I had hoped to move the discussion to the proto list.
That didn't happen. Lately, I've used it to make proto-specific
announcements that wouldn't be of general interest, but I'd be fine with
retiring it as a failed experiment.
