1.55.0 rc2 seems to build correctly but like others said there is a
strange message
just after typing ./b2 command:

link.jam: No such file or directory

building on linux x86_64 targetting linux x86_64 or i686-w64-mingw32
or x86_64-w64-mingw32 (same error message).
