Though I am also opposed, I think this is a much less egregious case than
vector<bool>, since the library wouldn't force the specialization on
Boost list run by bdawes at acm.org, gregod at cs.rpi.edu, cpdaniel at pacbell.net, john at johnmaddock.co.uk
