[boost] References to SOAP and DOM

I mentioned to a friend the boost discussion about GUI frameworks
and why boost didn't see it as a cost-effective target.  He
suggested that there is recent work that may circumvent the old
"platform wars".  I'm curious if any boosters have opinions about
the relevance of SOAP or DOM ...
