The sourceforge CVS already provides a webCVS read-only browser as well as
read-only anonymous CVS.

Writing to the CVS requires SSH1 which a lot of people seem to find
difficult from behind a firewall.

I have seen sites linking to methods to solve this problem but haven't
looked at them myself.

FWIW WinCVS provides quite a simple way to get Sourceforge cvs files
relatively painlessly without the 'joy' of learning too much about cvs
itself. I think there's a similar MacCVS as well.
