In defense of py_cpp:
I often find it useful to view Python with py_cpp as "a poor man's
C++Script". Now, as not even the rich do have C++ interpreters or
C++Script (have they ?), py_cpp looks to me like an ideal medium for
finding out whether C++ scripting would be useful, how it might be used
if available, and which features should be supported. Viewed this way,
py_cpp seems to be perfectly in line with the goals of boost.
