Recently Ullrich Koethe complained to me that the “/&rdquo tags I was using in my documentation (they make pretty curly left- and right- quotes) didn't show up in his browser.

    http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/entities/special.html seems to indicate that these are legal entities, at least in HTML 4.0. I guess his browser only supports HTML 3.2. Should we be writing docs to ``HTML 3.2'' or “HTML 4.0”?
