One final concern about these changes, of a more global nature: this library
had already begun to spin a bit out-of-control in terms of its size and
complexity for something doing such a simple, utilitarian job. I hope that
by making these changes we're not pushing it over the edge in that direction
(the updated documentation helps quite a lot in this regard). I want it to
be possible and easy for even novice users to take advantage of the
operators library. In particular, I worry that the grouped arithmetic
operators may be hard enough to remember and provide little enough benefit
that they only obscure things. Mind you, I'm not sure of that; it's just
something I'm concerned about. Maybe in the long run the library ought to be
split up into layers.
