I agree with many replies that the problem is real complexity of
both problems and of the Language C++. The exasperating lack
of conforming compilers seems to be consuming 95% of the effort.

To get novices like me to use libraries better, documentation,
and most of all lots and lots of working examples are vital.
We don't care how much thought went into it - we just want it
to work.

But we should be _VERY_ grateful for all the very special effort that
has gone into the libraries, even if they seem to be making as
complicated as possible on purpose.
