Metrowerks maximum filename sizes on Win32

I just ran into an oddity with the Metrowerks CodeWarrior 6.1 command line 
compiler - it truncated some longer file names to 18 characters.  So 
shared_ptr_example2.cpp and shared_ptr_example2_test.cpp both generated 
object files named shared_ptr_example.obj.

I've reported the bug to Metrowerks.

I'm not sure if we should worry about this or not.  Hopefully Metrowerks 
will fix it reasonably soon.  Is it causing anyone actual pain?
