I vote for accepting these guidelines.
There are always problems with style which are
now insoluble - the C language designers are to blame.
But that is no reason to stop trying.
Good 'Standards' separate the 'Must' from the 'Preferred',
and state 'Why' with examples.
I think this document does this well.
