Hi everyone,
I'd like to request that you NOT send out automatic notifications when
they upload new files to the boost files area if you are also planning to
post a separate explanation of what you've uploaded. The problem seems to be
that the automatic
notifications are at once too verbose and not informative enough. In
order to make the posting useful, one nearly almost needs to write a second
email describing what's been uploaded. People seem to recognize that, so
they
reply to their own notification, resulting in twice as much traffic as
neccessary. Worse, people who've seen the first message are likely to
summarily delete the second message (the one with the important info in
it).
Please limit upload notifications to ONE message, unless of course you
forget something.
Thanks,
Dave Abrahams
