While the important business of Boost takes place on this mailing list,
some of us do meet in person twice a year before the C++ standards
committee meetings. Twenty or so people usually show up. All Boost
members are welcome.
Two or three people usually give technical presentations of
work-in-progress, and there is a bit of discussion about Boost
topics. While the technical stuff is interesting, it is also fun to
actually meet people who are otherwise just names on a mailing list.
The 2001 Fall Boost meeting will be Sunday, October 21st, at 1:00 pm:
Residence Inn
7575 164th Ave NE
Redmond, WA 98052
The 2002 Spring Boost meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, April
21, on the island of Curaçao, in the Netherlands West Indies.
If you have ever thought about joining the C++ committee, now might be a
good time from a library point of view. The Library Technical Report work
is starting, so the committee's Library Working Group will be spending more
time talking about additions, including some of the Boost libraries.
Note that it is common to attend a C++ committee meeting before actually
joining; email me privately for details if you are interested.
