Boost :

Six months to a year ago I posted an inquiry concerning interest in
developing a computational geometry library for boost. After hacking
together a rapid prototype, I realized that a CG library would be a
big enough effort that I would not be able to justify working on it as
part of my ecological modeling degree. Since then there have been a
number of developments that will facilitate my starting such an
endeavor in earnest.

Without going into the gory details, I just started a second
graduate program in CS in which I will be focusing on a couple of the
computation aspects of the multiscale spatially explicit modeling we
are working on. Several of these issues have elegant solution in CG.
While the formation of my formal committee is not yet official,
Prof. Gerald Farin will be my initial advisor, and I have been given
permission by the powers that be to work on this under the boost
guidelines. Since this work is part of our research and will be
included in my thesis(s), I will need to clearly document any
contributions from others, literary references, etc.

As I expect this project to create a fair bit of bandwidth, I would
like to know if the the members of boost would prefer me to use this
list for the discussion or if I should branch it off until it is ready
for review. If there is anyone who is interested in corresponding
closely, alpha and beta testing code, etc. please let me know.

  Best regards,
