A minimal example that shows the problem:

#include <boost/iterator_adaptors.hpp>
#include <functional>

int & f(int & x)
{
 return x;
}

int main()
{
 int * p;
 boost::make_projection_iterator(p, std::ptr_fun(f));
}

It still fails.
