BTW, I just remembered that Damien suggested that somebody
should give me a medal for writing the fixed-point decimal
code using MSVC v5.

Not so fast!  It's true that I got a clean compile of the
decimal.cpp file; but that doesn't instantiate any of the
templates.  I fully expect that I'm still a _long_ way
away from having correct code, especially WRT the i18n
stuff that I'm learning about as I write.
