Oops. I'm a little bit surprised. I actually like the ublas 
interfaces.

Are you talking about a design or a code merge? A code merge is a 
*lot* of work IMO and I currently do not know, whose responsibility 
this is.

Eventually. I believe, that you are able to finish the job even 
better than we ;-), so I currently do not see any reason to submit 
ublas, if you are going to submit MTL-3.
