No, you are correct. It is a link relative to the site base of the currently
active URL (www.yahoogroups.com in this case). My guess is that the problem
with the script is that they are using cookies to track you and display ads. So
if your python 'browser' script doesn't handle cookies then you won't be able to
get to the pages correctly. If you disable cookies in your browser you can't
even access the site...
