If the files get generated normally (as part of the build, for
instance), I would expect everyone to benefit from them.

For files that are system-specific--for instance, some file managers
like to leave droppings in directories--use a ".cvsignore" file in
your home directory. (Presumably Windows CVS clients have a
user-configurable "default ignore list"?)
