If you look at http://www.boost.org/status/cs-aix.html you can see that in 
general AIX Visual Age 5.0 (if that is the compiler you are using) has a 
lot of problems with Boost.

I had a private conversation with one of the AIX VA maintainers in October; 
he was aware of the issues and was running tests.

You might want to check with IBM's support to see if there are any fixes 
available yet.
