Sigh. I'm not going over this again. See the list archives on why I decided
not to use your GCD code in the rational library. MSVC compatibility was one
of the issues, IIRC (I don't know if it still is). Basically, I haven't the
time to keep revisiting the code, to ensure that something which works now
will still work with the new GCD code. And no-one else offered to take up
the job...
