My ISP is willing to create a newsgroup for us within the standard NNTP
hierarchy already set up. Also we can just use the announce.newsgroup
process out of Duke Uni. Once we have followed their guidelines, they will
create the group for us. AFAIK, noone would have to host it for us (ie -
whose server hosts comp.lang.c++).

Subject: [boost] Need volunteer to supply Boost NNTP/newsgroup server
We would really like to gateway the Boost mailing list to a Boost
NNTP/newsgroup server.
We had one volunteer to provide the service, but he had never set up such a
server, and when he got into it found it was more than he bargained
for. There was also some concern that his DSL connection might not supply
enough bandwidth.
So if anyone else would like to volunteer, please let me know privately.
You would need a persistent Internet connection, with some server and
connection bandwidth available. Probably be easier if you have at least a
bit of experience running an NNTP server, or strong interest in learning.
Thanks,
