I am no longer surprised when I see replies before original posts
particularly in the last few days , but I have not noticed such long
delays ( which is not to say they have not occurred )

I've been noticing significant delays in posts.  For instance, I
received some posts on this list yesterday around 3:00 PM replying to
posts I'd never seen.  Those "missing" posts have just arrived in my
mail box, a delay of 18 1/2 hours.  This is not the only time I've
witnessed this.  Is anyone else having the same problems?  Do we have an
issue with the list server, or possibly with the gmane news bridge?
