Efficiency isn't the main concern in the rest of the world, and even if it
was, it has already been stated that it could be alleviated under the hood.

If you are a proponent for efficiency, you need to put your efforts
elsewhere. Good design reduces unnecessary translation--the source of every
bottle-neck.

So what? Boost doesn't need to prevent users from using system-specific
calls; it should just allow them to avoid it. *Especially* no such
measures should be taken when they incur a runtime cost.
