Yes, it's reasonable.  The class is being changed fairly drastically for the
next revision, though, so I've not considered making this change in the
current release.  Any changes would be deprecated with the next release any
way.  If this is really important I can look at adding it to this release,
though I'm not sure about making it before the next Boost release.
