This concept is a definite improvement however I believe there is real
merit in the concept of a path always being rooted and absolute as soon
as it is constructed. One uses strings for relative paths.
For example the issue of whether or not iterators return the root is
easy to decide :
on windows the first element of all paths is "d:\" or "\\share\"

Subject: [boost] Filesystem rooted paths make_absolute proposal
Hello
I propose the following changes to the filesystem path interface in
order to
solve the problem of rooted/absolute paths.
I'd like to introduce the notion of a path 'root' and of an 'absolute
path'.
