I'm fully aware that Numerical Recipes code is copyrighted, so I'm not
advocating that we simply include NR code in Boost. Moreover, NR code is
not very object-oriented and does not provide the generic & flexible
interface the we would all expect from code in Boost.
I merely stated that a few special functions that I wrote were BASED on
something I read in NR. Of course, I have an interface & implementation
that are better adapted for C++, and I made the code a little more
transparent for anyone who bothers to read it. If I submit my code, and
someone who reviews it doesn't like the algorithm (because it doesn't
work well, because it's too similar to the NR algorithm, or whatever), I
can change it.
No one else needs to post a message explaining the problems with
Numerical Recipes.
