[boost] timer: Win32 implementation available?

Dear all,

from the Boost.Timer documentation:

"John Maddock submitted an implementation using the Win32 API.
  Tests showed that while  ..."

I wonder whether this alternative implementation is still
available somewhere?

I know that it might be doubtable to use Win32 API functions
for timing, but sometimes, such as in
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-rt1/,
it is claimed that this gives more precise results.

[OT: Has anybody any other links regarding precise
  timing under Windows?]
