Fellow Boosters,
I have been following somewhat the discussion on the quantity library
for some time. This is something that I have always been interested
in. Given its regular appearance on this list and the number
of existing packages I would conclude that its interesting to alot
of others as well.
Does there exist or is someone interest in creating a small
survey on the existing quantity/units libraries available. Ideally
I would like to see something like:
a) Short definition of the purpose of a quantity/units library
b) perhaps a clarification of terminology. To me the words
quantity library and units library conjur up different though
related things. I envision quanties as being types while
units being a way to render those types. I suspect there
is lots of confusion on this in some packages.
b) List of features that such a library might have
i)..
ii)..
c) list of known libraries
d) for each known library, which combination of the above
features the library implements.
