I support your proposal. I too feel there's an "assymmetry" in the
boost::smart-ptrs.
I've been using the auto_array_ptr by Greg Colvin found here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boost/files/auto_array_ptr/
and I believe this is almost exactly what you had in mind.

If I understand things correctly, the only reason it's not already in boost
is hesitation to add more separate smart-pointers before consensus could be
reached regarding a possible policy based impl. (and no one pushed it
through a review)
