You should upgrade your lexical_cast.hpp to the CVS version or boost to 1.30.1.
There was an issue with the 1.30.0 lexical cast that is fixed in 1.30.1. Not 100%
sure this will fix you problem, but it is worth a shot. Your test worked for me
on Mandrake 9.1, gcc 3.2.2.
