Very off-topic, so replying privately.

Mozilla Mail allows all the above. Mozilla project also has a standalone 
mail client now, but the 0.x version number is putting me off.

One nice thing about mozilla is the platform portability. I use it on Linux, 
but was able to simply copy my /home/darren/.mozilla directory to a win95 
machine and have all my email ready to go.
