Sorry for the long delay... 
 
So I assume what you want is something like: 
 
  using namespace boost::gregorian; 
  date d = from_string(__DATE__); 
 
If so, this would be in the scope of the library.  I'll put it on the todo 
list -- I don't think this will get in the upcoming release, but maybe the 
one after that.
