There is work underway by Ronald Garcia and Andrew Lumsdaine. It is in the 
Boost sandbox CVS under the name "bigint". Take a look at 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/boost-sandbox/ for information about the 
sandbox, and 
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/boost-sandbox/boost-sandbox/libs/bigint/index.html?content-type=text%2Fplain&rev=1.4 
for the bigint docs.

Perhaps if you posted your impressions of the library it might motivate the 
developers to move forward.
