I agree that it's probably a good idea to use the MPL versions, although
I'm not overly fond of the choice of names.  In exchange for that  
concession,
however, I demand a concession in return : keep the name  
static_rational -
my rationale for choosing that name is congruence with the existing  
runtime
rational class in rational.hpp and the naming convention in static_gcd,  
etc...
