I'm also quite concerned about irritating developers.

One thing I (and perhaps others) need to do is be sure not to put a lot of 
effort into building a better testing system for broken compiles, when 
badly broken compilers are becoming a thing of the past.

I'll try to give some more though to what that implies for Boost regression 
test reporting.
