It's amazing what GCC will let you get away with...

Looks like a problem with iterator_facade and VC++ 7.1: it shouldn't be trying 
to use decrement/advance when input_traversal_category_tag is given. Anyway, 
I have a workaround in place that fixes it for VC++ 7.1.
