No patching is needed, IIUC. Just set BOOST_BUILD_PATH to point at a
directory of yours, then boost/tools/build/v1, e.g.:

   BOOST_BUILD_PATH=/home/dave/toolsets:/home/daveboost/tools/build/v1

Then drop your own toolsets into the first directory.
