Not sure. In computer graphics you specifically talk about
"axis-aligned bounding boxes". To me, "box" is the 3d version of
Boost list run by bdawes at acm.org, gregod at cs.rpi.edu, cpdaniel at pacbell.net, john at johnmaddock.co.uk
