Summary: Grep() hangs for a particular string

Initial Comment:
We have the following code.
 std::vector<std::string> v;
 boost::RegEx expr(strSearchValue, TRUE);
 expr.Grep(v, strObjectValue); 

Statement expr.Grep(v, strObjectValue); hangs when 
expr is "(?=stl)" and strObjectValue is “Example (M-
STL)”

Could somebody tell me why are we hanging doing Grep
()?
