This sounds *almost* like the range_all mentioned in:

The difference, AFAICT, as that each element is the "prescribed set"
is an enumeration instead of some contiguous subset of an integral
value like int or long.

Maybe the common parts could be factored out? I could re-upload the
range_all.zip to the vault if you're interested.
