Summary: unknown compiler version

Initial Comment:
I am not a developer but I need the boost librarys to
compile a program I want to look at.

When I try to install the boost library for GCC version
4.0.2_20050901-3 on SUSE 10.0 I get into an infinate
loop where it keeps telling me unknown compiler version
over and over.

I am using the command bjam "-sTOOLS=gcc" install.

Anyone know what this error means or a workaround?

Thanks for any help.
